Groundbreaking ceremony in Falkenstein -
Embro is growing at the new location
March 28, 2023 – The technical embroidery company Embro is expanding its production capacities. The new site in Falkenstein/Vogtland will include an office and social building as well as a production and storage hall.At the symbolic groundbreaking ceremony, Markus Flechsing, Managing Director of Embro, welcomed Falkenstein's Mayor Marco Siegemund and Ulrich Henneke, Partner at Vollack (Schkeuditz). The experts in sustainable and energy-efficient buildings are responsible for the conception, planning, and construction of the new working environment.
With the groundbreaking ceremony, Embro, a specialist in technical embroidery, officially launched its new construction project in Falkenstein. The project will include a two-story office and staff building as well as a production and warehouse hall – totaling approximately 2.700 square meters of gross floor area. Markus Flechsing, Managing Director of Embro, emphasized: “With this new building, we are sending a clear signal for the future of our company and strengthening our position as an innovative, globally active partner for technical textiles.”
Energy efficiency in focus
Embro entrusted Vollack with the conception, planning, and construction of its new production facility. The experts in sustainable and energy-efficient buildings designed the new building to meet KfW energy efficiency standards. Ulrich Henneke, partner at Vollack, explains the details: “With heat pumps that can be powered by climate-friendly and cost-effective energy, we ensure climate control that is both safe for working conditions and environmentally sound. A photovoltaic system on the roof of the building will secure part of the electricity supply and conserve resources.”
Prospects for young people
Markus Flechsing hopes that the site expansion and the new, modern working environment will attract talent: "We want to be an attractive employer for young people and offer them interesting career prospects in the region. In addition, we continuously invest in the training and further education of our existing team." Embro has been firmly rooted in the Vogtland region for more than ten years. This close connection to the area will remain even with the relocation of its current site in Auerbach to Falkenstein, approximately five kilometers away. Marco Siegemund, Mayor of Falkenstein, is delighted with the industrial expansion: "The groundbreaking ceremony for the construction project underscores the very successful development of the Embro company. For me personally, this is a clear commitment to the Falkenstein/Vogtland location."
Embro's establishment contributes to increasing the economic strength of the region. The project is supported by the joint program for improving the regional economic structure of the state of Saxony and by Sparkasse Vogtland as a financing partner. The new building is scheduled for completion in spring 2024.
