Innovation manager for the development and establishment of a quality assurance concept for textile sensor systems

The aim of the project

Embro GmbH develops "smart textiles"—fabrics with integrated components such as heating elements or sensors. These textiles are used in medical technology, automotive applications, protective clothing, and sportswear, among others, and must function with exceptional reliability. The project aims to significantly improve the quality of these textile sensor systems and ensure seamless traceability. Currently, many tests are performed manually and only on a sample basis. In the future, systematic and, where possible, automated testing will be conducted throughout the entire production process—from embroidery and cutting to contacting. This will involve developing new testing concepts and measurement methods, implementing measuring devices with digital data acquisition, and storing and analyzing all test and process data in a structured manner. This will enable Embro to detect errors earlier, reduce rejects and customer complaints, and offer consistently high, verifiably documented product quality.
